Industrial hemp is defined as cannabis that contains a delta-9 THC concentration of less than 0.3%, yet delta-9 THC itself can be derived from other compounds that meet this criterion.
So how can some products sustain this standard yet offer higher dosages of delta-9 THC? Say we use gummy edibles as an example; if the gummy has a dry weight of 1 gram, ingredients and other compounds included, then 0.3% of that entire product could equal 3 milligrams of delta-9 THC and maintain legal selling status. The greater the weight of the product, the higher the 0.3% threshold.
