Chapter 10: Costumes, Treats, and Keeping Promises
October 23rd: Venice, Florida (Halloween Prep Begins)
Venice, Florida, was buzzing with early Halloween excitement—doorsteps covered in pumpkins, porches draped in fake cobwebs, and the occasional skeleton waving from a lawn. Paul pulled up to Christy’s house, already impressed by the transformation happening in her front yard. A scarecrow in a pirate hat leaned casually by the mailbox, and Christy was hard at work hanging bats from the porch.
“You’re really getting into this, aren’t you?” Paul called out, grabbing a small bag from his car. He’d just come from Tri-Healthy and had a little surprise to help them unwind after a day of decorating.
Christy turned, smiling, a playful glint in her eyes. “If we’re hosting this Halloween party, we have to make it spooky and fun. Plus, I know how much you love going all-in.”
Paul walked up the path, holding up the bag. “Well, I brought something to help us relax after all the hard work. Check this out—SVH Delta 8 THC Vape Hybrid Cartridge, Ice Cream Cookie flavor.”
Christy’s eyes widened. “Ice Cream Cookie? Now that’s a new one. I thought you’d be restocking the cola stash.”
Paul grinned. “I did grab more Cantrips D9 Cola, but I figured this vape could be our secret weapon. After a long day of prepping, this should be a great way to kick back.”
Christy took the cartridge from him, inspecting the sleek packaging. “Delta 8, huh? That’s perfect for chilling without feeling like you’re out for the night. You’ve really been doing your homework.”
Paul chuckled. “What can I say? I’m learning to balance things out—like decorations and downtime.” He winked, then looked around the yard. “Speaking of which, you’ve really transformed the place. Pirate scarecrow over there is my favorite.”
Christy laughed, pointing to the skeleton leaning against the mailbox. “Yeah, he’s got the ‘too-cool-for-Halloween’ vibe down.”
As they worked together to finish decorating, Paul couldn’t help but reflect on how things had changed over the past couple of weeks. Sweetest Day had been a success—his romantic surprise of dinner, Xite Milk Chocolate, and a moonlit walk had hit the mark, and the emotional connection between him and Christy seemed stronger than ever. Now, as they prepared for Halloween, the focus had shifted to fun and relaxation, something Paul wasn’t used to prioritizing in the middle of football season.
Once the last decoration was in place, Paul wiped his hands on his jeans and pulled out the Ice Cream Cookie vape. “Alright, moment of truth. Ready for a break?”
Christy nodded eagerly. “Absolutely. We’ve earned it.”
They settled on the porch swing, and Paul took the first puff. The smooth, creamy flavor of Ice Cream Cookie hit him immediately, followed by the mellow, calming effect of the Delta 8 THC. He exhaled slowly, grinning as the relaxation set in.
“Okay,” he said, handing the vape to Christy, “this might be my new favorite. It’s like dessert and a chill pill all in one.”
Christy took a puff, her eyes lighting up. “Wow, this is amazing. It’s so smooth, and the flavor’s perfect—not too sweet, but definitely like a treat. You’re onto something with this Delta 8 idea.”
Paul leaned back, enjoying the gentle breeze and the soothing calm that was starting to spread through his body. “I figured with all the football craziness, this would help keep me grounded. Plus, it’s way easier than trying to sneak off and check scores during the party.”
Christy raised an eyebrow, amused. “Speaking of the party, are you really going to stick to that promise? No football distractions?”
Paul grinned sheepishly. “I’m committed. This time it’s all about the fun—and maybe a little bit of this Ice Cream Cookie magic to keep me in line.”
As they passed the vape back and forth, they began brainstorming ideas for the party. “So, costumes?” Christy asked, taking another puff. “What are we thinking—classic spooky or something creative?”
Paul thought for a moment, exhaling a cloud of vapor. “How about pirates? We already have Captain Scarecrow over there. Plus, I get to wear a cool hat.”
Christy laughed. “Perfect. We’ll be the most relaxed pirates Venice has ever seen—thanks to this little guy,” she said, holding up the vape cartridge with a grin.
The rest of the evening passed in a haze of creativity and relaxation. They decided on snacks, finalized the guest list, and even started working on a spooky playlist for the party. Paul felt surprisingly present—something he wasn’t used to during the height of football season. The Ice Cream Cookie vape gave him just the right amount of calm to enjoy the moment, and for once, football scores were the last thing on his mind.
Later, as they settled on the couch with a couple of Cantrips D9 Colas to round out the evening, Christy rested her head on Paul’s shoulder. “I think we’ve got this party in the bag. A few friends, some good music, and the most laid-back Halloween ever.”
Paul nodded, feeling a wave of contentment. “Agreed. I think we’ve found our secret formula—fun, relaxation, and a little bit of Delta 8 magic.”
Christy smiled, reaching for the vape again. “Speaking of which, we might need a few more of these Ice Cream Cookie cartridges if the party’s going to be this chill.”
Paul chuckled. “I’m way ahead of you. We’ll be stocked up—between the vapes and the cola, this Halloween’s going to be one for the books.”
