Chapter 6: Post-Game Recovery and Weekend Plans
September 13th: Youngstown, Ohio

The locker room buzzed with the excitement of another victory. Youngstown High had pulled off a dominant win against Pittsburgh High, and the energy was infectious. Paul Shellback leaned against the wall, his arms crossed, watching his players celebrate. Despite the triumph, his mind was already turning to the upcoming showdown with Cleveland High.

“Great job out there, guys!” Paul called out, his voice cutting through the noise. “Enjoy the win, but remember, Cleveland’s up next, and they’re not going to roll over like Pittsburgh did.”

The players nodded, their faces still glowing with the adrenaline of victory. They knew what was at stake, and the rivalry with Cleveland High was legendary. Paul could see it in their eyes—this was the game they were all looking forward to, the one that would define their season.

As the players headed for the showers, Paul felt the familiar ache creeping back into his shoulders and lower back. Coaching was rewarding, but the physical toll was undeniable. He made his way to his office, eager to take a moment to unwind before heading home.

Once inside, Paul pulled out a bottle of Steel Valley Hemp Full Spectrum Tincture Oil Cinnamon 1000mg from his desk drawer. The warm, spicy scent of cinnamon filled the air as he unscrewed the cap. He placed a dropper under his tongue, savoring the rich flavor as he let the oil do its work. Within moments, he felt the tension begin to melt away, his muscles relaxing as the stress of the game faded.

He leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes for a moment, grateful for the brief respite. The Cinnamon Tincture had become his go-to for post-game recovery, providing both physical relief and a comforting, familiar taste that he had grown to love.

A knock on the door pulled him out of his reverie. Adam Greenleaf popped his head in, a grin spreading across his face. “You hiding in here, Coach?”

Paul opened his eyes, returning the smile. “Just taking a moment. What’s up?”

Adam strolled in, still munching on some leftover Xite Delta-9 THC Chocolate Popcorn. “Just wanted to check on you. You seemed a little tense out there tonight.”

Paul chuckled. “Just trying to keep these kids focused. Pittsburgh was a good win, but Cleveland’s a whole different animal.”

“No doubt,” Adam agreed, plopping down in the chair opposite Paul’s desk. He looked at Paul, then suddenly broke into a wide grin. “Yo, Coach, it’s Friday night, we just won, and you’re sitting here like it’s a Monday morning! What you gonna do?”

Paul couldn’t help but laugh, shaking his head. “Man, I’m going to Florida tomorrow. That’s what I’m gonna do!”

Adam burst out laughing, tossing a piece of popcorn at him. “I knew it! You’re heading down to see your girl. You’ve got the life, man—winning games and catching flights. Next thing you know, you’ll be rolling up in one of those Miami Vice boats.”

Paul caught the popcorn, grinning. “Yeah, right. First, I need to get through Cleveland. But you know, a little sun and some beach time isn’t a bad way to recharge.”

“Recharge?” Adam snorted. “You’re living it up like it’s Friday in the ‘90s. Just make sure you don’t forget about us when you’re chilling in the sand with a drink in your hand.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll be back before you know it,” Paul said, standing up and stretching. “And speaking of recharging, you might want to take it easy on those edibles. I don’t need you crashing during practice.”

“Who, me?” Adam feigned innocence, stuffing another piece of popcorn into his mouth. “This is pure energy fuel, Coach. Keeps me sharp.”

The two friends shared a laugh, the camaraderie easing any lingering tension from the game. Paul felt a renewed sense of calm, the combination of the tincture and the lighthearted banter reminding him of why he loved coaching—and why he was excited to get back to Florida.

“Alright, man,” Paul said, grabbing his bag. “I’m heading out. Got to pack for the trip and make sure I’ve got everything.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Adam waved him off, still grinning. “Go on, enjoy your weekend in paradise. Just don’t forget about us poor souls stuck here in Ohio.”

Paul shook his head, still laughing as he made his way out of the locker room and into the cool night air. It was Friday night, they’d just won a big game, and he had a weekend in Florida to look forward to. Life didn’t get much better than this.

As he drove home, the scent of cinnamon still lingering on his breath, Paul felt a calm settle over him. The upcoming game against Cleveland was huge, but for now, he was content to focus on the weekend ahead, knowing he had the perfect way to recharge.
